Having some spare time during the Halloween holidays, we went to view (or better said view again) the marvellous mosaics of the Ravenna art and the painted landscapes of the Comacchio’s Valleys.

“Italy is so beautiful that a lifetime is not enough to see it all” was used to say a japanese man that, after much travelling, decided to settle in Italy. He was not for sure mistaken. Therefore I decided to start visiting little parts of my own country that are easy to overlook, like the beautiful Asti, in the Monferrato area.
And look what I’ve found, especially in the Cathedral.
Namibia is one of those rare places on earth where behind every corner an entirely different scenario lurks off. The only common denominator of this trip were gravel and dust roads that allow the circulation; otherwise you move, mouth wide open, between stretches of twigs pale green hills dotted with dark red sand to fire-red colored mountains dotted with bright yellow, from ash-colored canyons to huge golden dunes, a theorem of arid and brutal landscapes yet beautiful and fascinating, where every day the real owners of that land, wild animals, fight for survival against a harsh and cruel nature.

Vineyards in Chianti
Imagine a landscape painted in warm and bright color, soft hills that run one after the other in a theorem of curves, isolated farmhouses surrounded by cypress trees and medieval villages set among fields of sunflowers. Imagine all this and you’ll find yourself in one of the most desirable parts of Italy, that slice of Tuscany between Florence and the border of Lazio, also known as Chianti, between Florence and Siena and the Val d ’Orcia, south of Siena.
